Dear {subtag:name},

Exciting News!

EXERCISE PROGRAM - "Keep It Movin'"

The CHH exercise program will resume at the end of June, probably on June 29th, if there is enough interest. Nancy Perrotta and Sue Saya of HHCHealth are planning to initiate the program at the East Main Street facility (formerly Sky Top Lanes).

Instructors and PT staff will be taking health precautions for the personal protection of all present:
Small class size (4-5 + the instructor)
Separate entrance from patients
Taking temps of everyone on entry
Facility cleanliness

Kelly will probably lead the sessions if she has the times open in her schedule.

Nancy and Sue Saya need to know who would be interested in resuming, or starting, the in-person exercise program. Please contact Sue Saya at susan.saya@hhchealth.org as soon as possible if you would like to participate. You can let her know to sign you up, or, if you're not ready to start right now, let her know when you think you might be ready.

If you are hesitant to attend an in-person class but would consider an online session, please contact Sue Saya with that information as well. It may be a possibility.

As always, TAPSG assumes no liability for your participation but will cover the cost of the exercise program for as long as we can afford it. And, as always, we expect each person to attend all classes once they sign up.

TAPSG MEETING

We will ZOOM together on Saturday, June 27th at 10 AM with Dr. Michelle Bobulinski, a clinical neuropsychologist with Hartford Health Care, based in Cheshire. Her topic will be: Cognitive Impact of Parkinson's.

If you have never attended a ZOOM gathering before and are nervous about it, please contact me before June 25, and we'll run through it together. All it takes is for you to click the link on the invitation I send to you, and POOF! TAPSG has purchased an extended ZOOM plan so that we can stay together online for as long as we need to. We will not go beyond our regular meeting time. BE AWARE: I will mute all microphones while the speaker is presenting. After that, we'll call on people with questions.

Susan Lather of the Vernon Chase Movement Center be at the meeting to introduce Dr. Lahrmann, a new neurologist in CT, who would like to say hello and answer any questions people may have.

WALK IN THE WOODS for Parkinson's
White's Woods will not be open for groups this summer. Our Walk in the Woods for Parkinson's will take on a new look this year. We're going VIRTUAL! You, your family, co-workers and friends and neighbors may walk together - apart - to help support TAPSG. More information will be coming soon.

TAPSG has paid to ship booklets for care partners. I heard about this booklet while attending a webinar given by Connie Phinney of the Davis Phinney Foundation. She was simply wonderful, practical and realistic about what care partners have to deal with and how to maintain a healthy attitude. "Parkinson's Care Partners: Rewriting the Rulebook" is a great summary of the webinar content. I have 35 copies at my house. If anyone would like to stop by and pick one up, let me know. 860-489-1677. Otherwise, I'll bring them to our next in-person meeting. Doesn't it seem like years since we've been together?

Sub-Group ZOOMs

CARE PARTNERS - How are you feeling? Do you miss our monthly gatherings? Would you like to hold a separate ZOOM meeting just to chat? Let me know. Sue

People With Parkinson's - Would you like to gather together just to chat with each other? The family has been broken up by this virus, but we can gather in ZOOM if you'd like just to chat with other PWP. If there's enough interest, we'll set up a meeting, Let me know. Sue

I miss you all but hope to see and hear from you all on June 27th. I'll send your invitations on Friday, June 26th. Then, on Saturday at 9:55, go to that email and click the link. I'll let you into our meeting from the waiting room. Please bring your own refreshments. Emoji

Distant hugs,
