Henry (Heinrich) Roehl, 82, of Torrington, CT, passed away on Sun., Dec. 1 at his home.

He was the husband of Baerbel (Maiwald) Roehl. Henry was born in Lithuania on June 8, 1931 and came to Torrington in 1951. He was a machinist at Torin Corp and later the Torrington Co. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran, where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, attended Bible studies, and served on a variety of committees. He was also active in Tres Dias and Kairos Prison Ministries. Henry enjoyed sharing the love of Christ with others and cherished spending time with his family. Henry is survived by his wife, children Michael and Claire Roehl, Ingrid Schmidt, and Christopher and Laura Roehl, and grandchildren Renate, Alexander, and Theodore Roehl and Andre and Ilana Schmidt. Calling hours will be Fri., Dec. 6 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Phalen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran, 837 Charles St, Torrington, on Sat., Dec. 7 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Hillside Cemetery.
